SPACE FOUNDATION ENDS "SPACE IMAGINATION PRODUCT" CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

We are very sorry to report that the Space Foundation, with whom ScienSonic Laboratories has partnered for more than a decade, has chosen to terminate the Space Imagination Product category of their certification program, thus ending our longstanding partnership. It was a great program, and we were very proud that our recordings such as AfarMission In Space, and Visions were recognized by the Foundation as Certified Space Imagination Products, qualified to bear their official seal. As we wrote at the time,

"We are extremely honored that the Space Foundation has found our recordings worthy of its Certification Seal, which shows that it places a value on imagination and creativity in addition to hard science. This, of course, is entirely in keeping with ScienSonic Laboratories' philosophy and mission. We hope that you will help support the Space Foundation, and ScienSonic Laboratories, in our efforts to expand human knowledge and imagination. By purchasing our imaginative products, you will be playing an important role in this ongoing work."

Kevin Cook and Rebecca Williams headed up the certification program when ScienSonic signed on. They were very enthusiastic about the program, and loved our music. Even though we are very small potatoes, they saw great value in the relationship beyond the small percentage of sales that we donated each year to the Space Foundation fund. And we were thrilled to be so recognized.

Personally, I have treasured memories of being invited to their 2015 Space Symposium, and performing there... hobnobbing with astronauts such as Buzz Aldrin and Leroy Chiao... having dinner with the head of NASA's Space Launch System... being presented with a plaque at the Space Technology Hall of Fame, honoring ScienSonic's "space-themed music." Just an unforgettable experience!

Alas, with new folks taking charge, changes have been made... and while the Space Technology part of the Certification Program will remain, the Space Imagination Product category is being scrapped. Hereafter we are no longer permitted to display the certification seal.
A shame to see the program ended. This partnership meant a great deal to us, and we are very grateful for having been a part of it.
